Engaging Drupal 8 Attorney Site Redesign

Freeborn, a full-service law firm, sought a mobile-first, engaging experience on Drupal 8.

The Challenge

With 130 attorneys in five offices, Freeborn had grown exponentially since their Drupal 7 site build, and a design refresh made a lot of sense with the migration to Drupal 8.

We wanted to highlight not only the attorneys and areas of focus but also the valuable content generated by Freeborn in multiple formats.

Our Approach

The discovery process included stakeholder interviews, analytics review, and content inventory to verify user targets and outline goals and objectives for the new site. At the end of this phase, interactive wireframes were created to demonstrate and verify recommendations before moving forward.

Content Migration

We converted five content types to one and built new taxonomy relationships.

Flex Pages

Flexible components allow for dynamic, engaging page creation to fit their needs.

Attorney Profiles

Updated attorney bios with a fresh new art direction and a UX tab pattern.

The new site enabled users to find people and easily navigate on mobile.

Bold Design

Freeborn’s enhanced presentation better engages visitors with the rich content.

Content Relationships

Display news on relevant attorney bios and practice pages to improve UX.

Final Thoughts

Freeborn wanted a solution that consolidated and streamlined the content authoring process but also enabled a modern design that reflected their brand. Upgrading to Drupal 8 allowed for all of this and also included mobile-first design, performance, extensibility, and the ability to upgrade to Drupal 9 without another rebuild.
