Dries himself said Mobile is the next biggest opportunity within Drupal. During his keynote at Drupalcon Denver he expanded on a quote from Mary Meeker of Kleiner Perkins and said "we are now in the 5th major technology cycle of the past half century”. Dries continued, “these 5 cycles are mainframe -> mini computer -> desktop -> internet -> mobile.”
We could not agree more.
This is why we are pleased to announce one of the biggest names in mobile web design and strategy as the keynote of both the Atlanta Drupal Business Summit and Drupalcamp Atlanta—Josh Clark.
Josh Clark is a designer specializing in mobile design, strategy, and user experience. He's author of "Tapworthy: Designing Great iPhone Apps" (O'Reilly, 2010) and "Best iPhone Apps" (O'Reilly, 2009). Josh's company, Global Moxie, offers consulting services, training, and product invention workshops to help creative organizations build tapworthy mobile apps and effective websites.
Some of you might have even used his uberpopular "Couch-to-5K" (C25K) running program, which has helped millions of skeptical would-be exercisers take up jogging. (His motto is the same for fitness as it is for software user experience: no pain, no gain.)
In a recent chat I had with Josh he said this about the upcoming conferences,
“I'm excited to share some ideas about bringing “the awesome” to multidevice publishing and design. So much of our multiscreen future depends on getting the content management right. Mobile isn't just a technology challenge or a design challenge. It's a huge challenge for content workflow, storage, and transport, all the nitty-gritty stuff that the Drupal community cares about. Let's dig into it in October!”
So fellow Drupal’ers “are you ready!? No seriously, are you ready?” Join us, and hundreds of your fellow developers, designers, CIO’s, CMO’s and other technology stakeholders at the 2012 Drupal Business Summit and Drupalcamp Atlanta —October 26th and 27th.
