1.  So Jason, what's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?

As Senior Drupal Developer, I collaborate with client stakeholders and Mediacurrent team members to provide clients with on-going support and custom solutions that leverage Drupal best practices and coding standards.

2.  We're so glad to have you!  Give us an idea of what professional path brought you here.

Over the past 15 years or so, it seems that one experience provided an opportunity to learn new skills, which led to new opportunities.  It all started with a work-study program at Texas State University, where I rebuilt a Filemaker Pro database for the sociology department’s internship program. That database experience led to a job working with the fundraising software, Raiser’s Edge, for Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans and then with Audubon Nature Institute, where I then met Drupal.

3.  How did you first get involved with Drupal?

While working at Audubon Nature Institute, I joined an internal team to help direct our organization’s website redesign project using Drupal as the chosen CMS platform. Following the launch of the new site, I continued to work with the platform as site builder and site architect, and I also managed vendor contracts to complete iterative site improvements.

4.  Is there a go-to Drupal module that you like to incorporate whenever possible?

I try to use the Features module with all my work to ensure the changes are tracked in version control and are portable.

5.  Do you have any recommended reading or books that you would suggest to others?

Good reads about New Orleans: Finn McCool's Football Club: The Birth, Death, and Resurrection of a Pub Soccer Team in the City of the Dead and Nine Lives: Mystery, Magic, Death, and Life in New Orleans.

Any of Edward Tufte’s books, such as Envisioning Information.

6.  Any mobile apps that you use regularly?

I use Inbox (personal email) and Gmail (business email), Calendar, Slack, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Flipboard daily.

7.  What do you like to do in your spare time?

What is spare time? Much of time away from work is scheduled, but when given the chance, we’ll schedule ourselves to go sailing on Lake Pontchartrain.

8.  What do you like about Mediacurrent?

At Mediacurrent, the opportunities to work with intelligent and talented people are endless.
