AJC Award

Mediacurrent’s award shelf is growing!

Mediacurrent is excited to announce that we’ve been awarded the #25 spot in the small company division of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s 2019 Top Workplaces awards. This annual honor recognizes the top 150 companies to work for in Atlanta and is determined through an anonymous employee survey that measures several aspects of workplace culture, including benefits, career development, and employee engagement.

The Top Workplaces award is a testament to the forward-thinking culture that Mediacurrent co-founders, Dave Terry and Paul Chason have created over the past 12 years.  As an Atlanta digital agency with a distributed remote workforce, this recognition proves that our commitment to building a collaborative culture has paid off again.

"This award is such an honor because it involved direct validation and feedback from our team,” said Dave Terry, co-founder of Mediacurrent. “From early on, we have always believed that our only competitive and sustainable advantage is our culture. We are continuing to forge ahead with new and innovative ways to improve our workplace experience."

The Back Story

Beginning in 2007, Paul Chason and Dave Terry (two lifelong friends who have known each other since elementary school) noticed a void in the marketplace for digital agencies that could assist organizations with adopting an open source software based web strategy. In 2012, our team grew by 50 percent, reaching 28 staff members and today we have a team of 85 talented developers, strategists, and designers specializing in open source software. Dave and Paul decided early on that culture would be at the forefront of the efforts when staffing the agency.

"Winning the Top Workplaces Award is a testament to the thriving culture our entire team has helped build. Since 2007, we've worked tirelessly to create an organization where our team feels valued, are challenged, and experience an incomparable sense of camaraderie," said Paul Chason. "We continue to pursue a philosophy of consistently evolving our organization to be a highly desirable place for team members to grow their careers."

Award-Winning Culture

At Mediacurrent, our culture is very important to us. We understand culture is our only sustainable competitive advantage, so we work hard to maintain a strong team and company culture. One of the greatest perks we offer, according to our team, is working and collaborating with a group of talented individuals that are passionate about what they do. We hire people who want to be the best at their craft.

We work hard to differentiate our culture from our competitors so that we are able to keep the most competitive team in the industry. We offer benefits such as working 100% remote (and in-office team members work remote 1-day per week), continuing education and tech stipend, employee referral bonus program, a 9/80 schedule option, diversity programs, and much more. Aside from our benefits, we keep our staff engaged with monthly incentivized games, exciting new hire employee packages, weekly employee awards, monthly lunch n’ learns, a fully-stocked office kitchen, catered lunches, holiday gifts, birthday shoutouts, team retreats, and much more!
