Employee Spotlight: Mary Pat Kelsey

Each month, we spotlight one of our amazing team members who work hard to bring you great work. Today, we interviewed Mary Pat Kelsey who is a Client Success Manager that has been with Mediacurrent for over 2 years! Let's get started!

1. What’s your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?

I am a Client Success Manager on the Revenue team. As CSM it is our job to provide the best possible experience for our customers. We work closely with stakeholders to identify their needs, their goals, and their KPI’s. We work with both the MC team and client to make sure expectations are realistic and being met. We want to enhance the experience clients are having with our MC team.

2. Give us an idea of what professional path brought you here.

I have worked in sales and account management for some time in various industries. I have found that the skills for helping customers and finding solutions for them are the same no matter what industry I think the most important skill is listening. That skill has been very important when talking to clients. While this was a different industry for me, the approach with clients was the same.

3. How did you first get involved with Drupal?

My first introduction to Drupal was here at Mediacurrent. I had worked in software sales, so working in the open source world was completely new to me.

4. Is there a go-to Drupal module that you like to incorporate whenever possible?

Not really what I do here. I leave that to the experts.

5. Do you have any recommended reading or books that you would suggest to others?

This is a tough question. I feel like I have too many to list. There are always Sales and Customer service books to review. I feel like they all have something of value to add.

6. Any mobile apps that you use regularly?

I use all the standard ones - the ones that make my life easier and happier. That is all I want from those apps - Is that too much to ask?

7. What do you like to do in your spare time?

One of my favorite things to do is go on long walks. We live in a great area and there is always something going on. It is not only good physically, but it is usually fun as well because I almost always run into somebody to catch up with. We enjoy binge watching old and new series on Netflix, etc. (One of my favorites was Peaky Blinders) I also have taken up cooking/baking during the pandemic. I am not good at it but I was intrigued. I would see all the fun videos with fabulous end results, so I decided to give it a try. I will scream from the rooftops if I ever get good at it - until then, it keeps me amused. 

8. What do you like about Mediacurrent?

Mediacurrent has an incredible team of talented professionals. I love learning the technical side from these skilled individuals. Most importantly, I value the relationships with clients. I love helping them achieve their goals and helping impact their success. Building partnerships with clients has always been one of the most satisfying and rewarding aspects of what I do.
