On Friday, October 26th in conjunction with Drupalcamp Atlanta weekend, Mediacurrent will be organizing a code sprint to help with the Drupal Media module. This sprint was inspired by Aaron Winborn. Aaron is a long-time Media module maintainer and contributor of the Drupal community that was diagnosed with ALS.

We have reserved a room from 9am - 5pm EST at the Waverly Renaissance hotel (directly next to the Drupalcamp Atlanta venue) that will hold up to 50 participants. Mediacurrent is sponsoring the cost of the room, coffee, and snacks. Chairs, tables, and wifi access will be provided (please bring your own laptop). Mediacurrent team members, Don Vandemark and Damien McKenna, will lead project management and day-of-the-event coordination. Dave Reid, co-maintainer of the Media module, has graciously offered to help with organizational efforts and prioritizing the issue queue. Mediacurrent will be shutting down our office for the day, and will provide 20+- people to assist with the efforts.  

We are starting a volunteer list for those who would like to join us and donate their skills and time. During registration for Drupalcamp Atlanta, we will also be accepting financial donations that will be used to help Aaron's family cover medical costs and expenses. If you would like to donate sooner, please do so—a special trust has been set-up.
