The Drupal Coffee Club has a new location at Inman Perk and we had a great turnout for our first meetup. As usual we had a diverse mix of problems and discussions and we had a great time connecting with other developers in the community. Here’s a roundup of some of the topics covered.

There was plenty of caffeine-fueled discussions at last night Atlanta Drupal Coffee Club.

We conducted a "hands-on" tutorial using Drupal api’s in your own code and how to add an admin panel to your module, while walking through the use of hook_menu() to create a form and validating before submitting.

Another popular discussion was an introduction to Drush, showing how to install this amazing swiss army knife for Drupal. We discussed how to use it for site maintenance and demonstrated creating a site using a makefile.

It was standing room only at last night's Atlanta Drupal Coffee Club. (We always forget to take photos until late in the evening after people have already left).

We discussed a wide-range of topics, but the leading conversations were around performance tuning and APC. It's usually one of the easiest things to add to your stack and you can see a quick gain. Even if it's not all that much of an improvement, producing a lovely graph with the apc.php file and all those green cache hits in the pie chart, will make you feel awesome.
